About Douglas Learner Drivers

We are Douglas Learner Drivers – a husband-and-wife team offering friendly, inclusive and professional tuition across East Ayrshire. Whether you’re new to driving or returning to the road, we’ll help you feel safe, confident and test ready.

As long-time members of the East Ayrshire community, we’ve raised families here and are passionate about helping others gain the freedom and opportunities that driving brings. We enjoy holidaying with family, eating out and walking our three miniature dachshunds – who occasionally try to volunteer as “support dogs” for nervous drivers!

We’re committed to developing your skills on the road and tailoring tuition so that hazard perception and confidence behind the wheel become second nature.

A retired police officer with 25 years of service, John offers a direct, concise teaching style and specialises in extended tests and motorway coaching. He’s known for spotting poor habits quickly – and for his sense of humour.

Carol Anne (PDI)

A former teacher with experience in both mainstream and specialist education, Carol Anne brings analytical insight and flexibility to every lesson. She’s dedicated to empowering learners and ensuring each one gains confidence at their own pace.
